I overheard someone once saying “I’m in love with my house”. I remember thinking to myself that what she’d said was a little strange. Like alot maybe, but in love? Funny.

Forward a couple years. Ludwig and I are searching for our own house to call home. Out on the search, we meet a feisty gal, a real fire cracker of a real estate agent! None other than Caroline Sawatsky. After chatting with her over the next while, sharing with her our wants, our needs, our likes and dislikes in a homestead, with her charismatic attitude, it wasn’t hard to become friends.

She showed us the houses we thought we would like to see. After some viewings, we just weren’t finding the perfect house. One day Caroline phoned me and said “I found your house Cara! It’s unique, it’s you!”. I’m thinking, sure ok we’ll meet for a viewing.

Ludwig and I pull up in the long driveway. We’re seeing a nice cute home, but to us, didn’t consider it to be how Caroline described it. Unique? The front door is opened by the previous owner, and BAM!!! I knew it was our house! Unique was the perfect and only way to describe this house! Gorgeous curved glass wall entrance leading into the grand room. High vaulted cedar ceilings throughout the entire house. Floor to ceiling rock fireplace, beautiful custom made center island! Oversized huge bedrooms, the master coming with an extra high ceiling with a view of Mount Baker. The back yard was the exact size we needed for our 3 large dogs. Yes, Caroline was right, the house was unique, the house was mine!

It’s been two years now and I look back remembering what that woman had said about being ‘in love with my house’... Yes! There’s no other way I would put it myself, I am IN LOVE with our house! I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

The bonus in our having Caroline Sawatsky as our real estate agent? Not only is she the best at what she does, but also, she has become a very close friend of mine. After the sale of any house one would assume you may never see your agent again, not true with Caroline. She continued to stay in touch, became our friend, and I wouldn’t trade her in for anyone!
